“The biggest impact Patchwork has had on my life, is it has bridged the gap between having potential and being able to fulfil it, putting you in the right places at the right time, providing opportunities for you to improve yourself but also improve things for others…”
The Conservative Party, in collaboration with the Patchwork Foundation, will be running a six-week paid summer internship for young people to learn more about working in politics. Building on previous versions of the programme that took place within CCHQ, this years programme will offer the opportunity for participants to work at the heart of CCHQ’s campaigns during a General Election year.
We are looking for young people who are passionate about learning more about the world of politics, and want to develop essential campaigning skills by learning from experienced teams on the campaign trail. We want to support young people who might not have previously considered a career in politics, by providing the support to overcome any barriers and flourish in these environments, and we’re particularly interested in young people from under-represented backgrounds.
This year’s scheme will take advantage of the exciting political landscape of a General Election year, to be a part of CCHQ’s campaign on the ground and in constituencies. Participants will be placed with Campaign Teams across the country, to learn more about local campaigns in different regions in the UK. Throughout, you will be supported by the Patchwork team to develop the skills necessary to thrive on the scheme, such as critical thinking, public speaking and networking, as well as one-to-one pastoral support to ensure you are able to get the most out of the programme.

I have enjoyed working here and will miss the environment. It is completely different to anything that I have ever experienced and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that have been granted to me through this internship. 2023 CCHQ Intern
