Overview of Patchwork Foundation:
Patchwork’s mission is to promote, encourage, and support the active participation of young people from disadvantaged and minority communities in British democracy and civil society. We’ve been creating opportunities for underrepresented communities to engage with politics since 2012. In 2018, we became a registered charity.
About the Role:
We are seeking a new Chair of Trustees to lead our established board and succeed Farmida Bi CBE. As Chair, you’ll support the CEO and fellow trustees in implementing the strategic plan, driving forward Patchwork’s mission, and addressing challenges in the sector.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leading the Board of Trustees in overseeing the foundation’s strategic direction
- Ensuring compliance with charity and company law, as well as our governing documents
- Collaborating with the CEO to support staff and maintain a strong trustee-staff relationship
- Driving well-rounded, strategic decision-making
About You:
You will have a strong commitment to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and will believe in the power of the voluntary sector. You might have professional experience in areas such as education, youth work, business finance, fundraising, law, or HR.
