”I remember how lively and engaging it was and how passionate a room full of young people were so bought into the idea of democracy changing their own and other lives for the better. Thank you, Patchwork Foundation for all the work you do, it is an honour for me to support you.”
MP of the Years Awards 2014
in association with Mosaic Associates, Three Faiths Forum, UpRising and The National Union of Students.
The MP of the Year Awards represents a unique opportunity for deprived and minority communities to acknowledge and reward the contributions made to their communities by Members of Parliament.
Criteria and Process
Anyone can nominate an MP who they believe has made a significant contribution working with deprived and minority communities for the MP of the Year Awards. You do not need to live in the constituency of the MP you wish to nominate and you can nominate more than one MP. Once nominations are received the Patchwork Foundation will contact the MP nominated and inform them you have nominated them and we will request further information from their office with regards to their work with deprived and minority communities.
The Patchwork Foundation will research and produce a standard information sheet removing the name, political party and any information which may reveal the identity of the nominated MP. This will be submitted to a panel of independent judges who will decide the MPs of the Year.
Each nominated MP together with their nominator will be invited to attend the MP of the Year Awards hosted by the Speaker of the House of Commons, Rt Hon John Bercow at the Speaker’s House on 5th November 2014. If more than one nomination is received for a particular MP, the Patchwork Foundation will prioritise the invitation on a ‘first nominated – first invited’ basis as places are strictly limited for the ceremony.
Nominations Close 5th August 2014
