The Conservative Party, in collaboration with the Patchwork Foundation, will be running a six-week paid summer internship for young people to learn more about working in politics. This years programme will see participants spend time with a variety of different HQ party teams.

We are looking for young people who are passionate about learning more about the world of politics, and want to develop essential political skills by learning from experienced teams running one of the UK’s largest political parties. We want to support young people who might not have previously considered a career in politics or who haven’t had any prior experience, by providing the support to overcome any barriers and flourish in these environments, and we’re particularly interested in young people from under-represented backgrounds.

This is an exciting opportunity to experience working at the heart of Westminster in a leading political institution, finding out more about life at the heart of civil society by learning from seasoned political professionals and getting involved with real-world politics. Throughout, you will be supported by the Patchwork team to develop the skills necessary to thrive on the scheme, such as critical thinking, public speaking and networking, as well as one-to-one personal development support to ensure you are able to get the most out of the programme.
