Over the last five years, I have seen Patchwork grow from strength to strength. It’s work with underrepresented communities, especially young people, is not only important to get young people involved in our democracy, but has also completely changed so many people’s lives.
Patchwork Masterclass delegates 2017 attended a masterclass with Melanie Dawes CB, Permanent Secretary for Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), kindly hosted by Norton Rose Fulbright. Patchworkers learnt lessons about the Civil Service, the functions of a Permanent Secretary and how the Permanent Secretary overcame any challenges in her career.
