He brings extensive leadership experience from across the charity, corporate, and public sectors. Jonathan previously served as CEO of the CareTech Foundation, widely recognised as a leading corporate foundation in the social care sector, and was also Group Sustainability Director at CareTech, a specialist provider in care and education.

Earlier in his career, Jonathan was Managing Director of Mosaic, the mentoring initiative founded by His Majesty King Charles III (then The Prince of Wales), and has also run his own consultancy. He began his professional journey in the Civil Service, working across a range of policy, delivery, strategic, and front-line roles in multiple government departments.

In addition to his role at The Patchwork Foundation, Jonathan is Chair of Trustees at Carers Worldwide and serves as a Board Member of NCS Trust.

Jonathan was awarded an MBE in the 2021 New Year Honours for his services to charity and was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey in 2026.

Makedah was a graduate of Patchwork’s Masterclass programme in 2016 and currently works for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) in the Smart Metering Implementation Programme on Consumer Protection. As an advocate for better mental health provisions in the UK, she is also a trustee for the mental health charity, SAIE. Prior to working in BEIS, she worked for the Health and Safety Executive and for the Confederation of British Industry.

Harris founded Patchwork Foundation in 2012, recognising the vital need of a vehicle by which to promote the political and democratic engagement of under-represented communities. Harris Bokhari joined the Board of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government in September 2025 and serves as Chair of the MHCLG Audit and Risk Assurance Committee during his tenure. He is a social entrepreneur and public engagement leader, internationally recognised for promoting democratic participation among underrepresented communities. He founded the award-winning Patchwork Foundation, a leading national charity which brings minority and disadvantaged communities into public service roles. A chartered accountant by training, he has served on numerous public boards, including the Natural History Museum, The Royal Parks, National Trust Council and was Chair, National Citizen Service (NCS) Trust. He also serves as Chair, British Tourism Authority, Chair, Public Service Honours Committee and an Independent Member of the King’s Award for Voluntary Service Committee. He was awarded an OBE for services to young people and interfaith relations, named as one of London’s most influential figures by the Evening Standard’s Progress 1000 List; and awarded Imperial College’s inaugural Distinguished Alumni.

Damian Nussbaum is Executive Director of Innovation and Growth at the City of London Corporation. His teams work to strengthen the UK’s competitiveness as the world’s leading global hub for financial and professional services to support a thriving economy. Previously he served in central government. He worked on increasing institutional investment into UK infrastructure and development, strengthened government’s engagement with business by setting up a strategic relationship management programme, and served as private secretary to two Secretaries of State. He has worked in Brussels, representing the UK in the EU, and in Paris at the UK Embassy, as well as periods at the energy provider EDF and on secondment to the French Foreign Ministry.

Dame Sarah Healey was appointed Permanent Secretary at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in July 2026. Prior to this, she was Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), and before that Permanent Secretary of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) from 2019. Before that, she worked in the Cabinet Office, where she was Director General overseeing the development and implementation of economic and domestic policy, following two and a half years working on negotiations and preparations for the UK to leave the EU. Previously, Sarah was Director General in DCMS, where she led on integrating all digital responsibilities into the organisation, Director of Private Pensions at the Department for Work and Pensions, and Director of Education Funding and of Strategy at the Department for Education. Sarah joined the civil service in 2001 to work in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit. She has degrees from Magdalen College, Oxford, and the LSE.

Mustapha is a Management Consultant in the financial services sector, currently working at Citi, where he supports enterprise-wide transformation, governance, and operating model initiatives. He previously worked at a leading professional services firm, advising global banking organisations on risk, control, and regulatory change.

A graduate of Patchwork’s 2019 Masterclass programme, Mustapha is deeply committed to advancing social mobility and widening access to leadership opportunities for underrepresented communities. He brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his role as a trustee.

Dinah is a retired Big 4 Partner and experienced business transformation and technology advisor with over 25 years of expertise delivering complex global transformation programmes.

A graduate of the University of Lincoln and a qualified chartered certified accountant, she has worked across the manufacturing, mining and financial services industries, helping organisations enhance customer experience, efficiency and resilience by redesigning ways of working through process transformation, automation and AI enabled innovative solutions.

In 2020, Dinah made history as the first Black Heritage Female Partner appointed in her Big 4 organisation. As a senior female leader, she is a champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, dedicated to creating a more diverse talent pipeline. Recognised by the Black British Business Awards Senior Leader in Professional Services in 2023, she has been instrumental in mentoring and coaching future leaders across industries.

Dinah is deeply committed to advocating for underrepresented communities. She continues to support and mentor emerging leaders and drive sustainable, inclusive change to support society at large.

Janira has worked in the education sector for several years, driving institutional change and improving student experiences. At King’s College London, she pioneered award-winning programs addressing gaps in student outcomes. She holds a Master’s degree in Education Policy from Harvard University, where she also served as an Equity and Inclusion Fellow. Since 2021, Janira has been involved with the Patchwork Foundation, starting as a program participant and volunteer, and now serving as a trustee. Her work has received national and international recognition. In her current role, she aims to pay it forward and support the Foundation’s growth and mission.

Kiran is a Partner at Flint Global Ltd where she works with a wide range of clients dealing with challenges in policy, regulation and organisational change in the UK and EU in sectors including financial services, sport, life sciences and foundations. Previously Kiran worked in the UK Parliament and with European parliamentarians for the Liberal Democrats during the 2010 –2015 UK Coalition Government. She has also consulted for energy company Hess on corporate social responsibility strategies, as well as Barclays’ investment team in New York on energy issues.

Yasmin Waljee OBE is Hogan Lovells award winning International Pro Bono Partner and co-lead of the Social Impact Practice. She is an international human rights lawyer with a focus on reparations work. With over 27 years of experience and expertise across many areas, including in human trafficking and sexual violence, she has worked on many ground breaking and law changing matters. Hogan Lovells is one of the world’s top law firms advising on corporate, finance, litigation, regulatory and IP law, at the intersection of business and government.

Simon is a Partner and Vice Chair at KPMG in the UK. He joined KPMG in 2008 and shortly after became a member of KPMG’s financial services leadership specialising in the insurance sector. Simon has over 20 years’ of financial services experience in both the UK and internationally, helping companies to successfully evolve and adapt to the constantly changing landscape in which they operate. His insurance experience spans the sector’s whole ecosystem; working with large and complex organisations down to insurtech start-ups. Simon has built strong relationships, from Chief Executive/Board level through to first-line management, enabling him to understand their needs and suggest the best approach to help them reach their growth ambitions. He has become a go-to person in the industry for talent support; helping Boards to realise their talent internally or find the right people outside of the client organisation, along with coaching and succession planning.

Simon has always taken an active role in promoting partnerships within the public and private sector communities as well as being involved in a number of charities focused on social and political inclusion.

Esmat Jeraj is Head of Voter Engagement at the Electoral Commission. She has extensive experience across the public and charity sectors, with a focus on social mobility, democratic participation and equity and inclusion. Throughout her career, Esmat has worked across civil society and public life to advance justice, strengthen civic participation and foster more inclusive and meaningful engagement. She has held senior leadership roles in the charity sector, working on media literacy, press freedom and community development, with a particular focus on amplifying underrepresented voices. Beyond her professional roles, she is active in community organising and advises grassroots organisations and charities.
